Some trips don't just change the way you look at the world - they change your heart.

Last October, my husband Bernd and I experienced something that touched us deeply - something we will never forget.
Through Vasion, my husband's employer, we had the chance to take part in a special service trip, organized in close partnership with Pat Wilkins of BASICS International.

Together with a small team, we visited various schools in Kenya and Ghana - places full of energy and dreams, but also full of challenges.
We were particularly moved by a project in Accra (capital of Ghana) in the Chorkor district. It is one of the poorest districts and is located directly on the coast.

What we saw there got under our skin:
Children with shining eyes and inquisitive questions. Children who are eager to learn - even though they are often hungry and have inadequate school materials.
And yet they come. Every day. Because they believe in their dreams.

But we still ask ourselves today:
How can a child dream when it is hungry, has to work - or doesn't even know whether it will be able to go back to school tomorrow?

- A sponsorship campaign that is as simple as it is effective:

Each pharmacy sponsors a child in Chorkor.

 

With €700 per year, you can provide:

• Daily hot meals

• School materials, school uniforms and satchels

• Medical care

• Psychosocial support and protection

 

Children who graduate from school and those who go to university make a significant contribution to the development of their community and the reduction of poverty. This means that a single sponsorship offers the opportunity to improve the situation not only for a child, but also for people around them - even over several generations. ​​​​

→ A holistic approach to education that goes far beyond traditional teaching.

• Care: Hot meals every day, hygiene, medical assistance

• Child protection: Education, safe spaces, anti-violence training
